Ocean freight to and from Brazil – FCL or LCL

UWL provides both FCL and LCL options for shipping cargo to Brazil.  How do you know which option is best for you?  The answer will depend on your cargo volume.

FCL, or full container load ocean freight involves shipping either 20-foot or 40-foot containers full of only one company’s goods. A 20-foot container will fit around 10 standard pallets, and a 40-foot container will fit around 22 pallets.  We recommend shipping FCL if your cargo takes up at least half of a shipping container or more.

LCL, or less-than-container load ocean freight is a cost-effective alternative for shipping ocean freight if you have less than half of a full container to ship.  With LCL ocean freight, you only pay for the space you use, but you must share the container with other shippers.
