Global 3PL provider of NVOCC & Freight Forwarding Services, UWL, has secured its Customs House Brokerage License for all ports across the USA. This now allows UWL the ability to clear cargo through customs in all remote location ports across the United States, expanding services for customers. Instrumental to the securing of this license, according to Senior Vice President Jane Colazzo, was new Import Manager, Shannon Dillinger, as well as new state of the art software.
“I came on board at the end of August 2014 to launch the customs brokerage & import products,” says Dillinger. “We were already well underway with obtaining the necessary permits & approvals from Customs to be operational. I’ve worked closely with Customs over the last several months testing different aspects of our software and gaining approvals in stages. We passed the final stage of testing & were turned on with final approval to clear in all remote location ports in the United States effective immediately.”
UWL is now able to officially offer customers a complete supply chain solution from booking to final delivery for both import and export cargoes, including complex, intermodal transportation solutions. The company has two experienced licensed customs brokers on staff to provide comprehensive service in this area.
Colazzo is enthusiastic about this development: “This expansion of our services is an important indicator of where UWL is headed in the coming years. For 55 years, World Shipping – our parent company – has been clearing vessels in the Great Lakes. Now we can clear customers’ freight as well. We strive to streamline our customers business and this development is proof positive to that constant endeavor, enabling a true one-stop shop for all import and export related services.
